The Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank is the oldest financial institution in the city of Lowell, Massachusetts and has been a cornerstone of the community for 160 years. The Lowell Five takes pride in offering their customers progressive banking options that foster ease of accessibility and usability.
The Lowell Five website was several years old and did not reflect the customer-focus for which the bank was known. Pathways to relevant information were unclear, hindering not only the ability of current customers to interact with the bank, but also limiting the bank’s ability to prospect and cross-sell.
The overall visual aesthetic of the site needed to be redesigned to reflect a more progressive bank, while adhering to the existing brand standards and personality. Additionally, the User Interface would be reconstructed, making the products and services more accessible for current and prospective customers. New and updated functionalities were to be included, and finally, the site was to be optimized for search engines to improve rankings and therefore increase traffic to the site.
The redesigned website elevates the brand, highlighting The Lowell Five’s accessibility and reliability while representing the bank’s strengths, success, and size. This was achieved using a direct and genuine tone, as well as a contemporary look and feel. The architecture of the site was redeveloped to offer quick and easy access to major products and services, while the homepage now serves as a portal for timely information such as news and events, current rates, and new products. The new website ultimately reinforces The Lowell Five’s position as a financial institution that offers the sophisticated products and services of a “big” bank, while remaining a trusted, local bank that is committed to its community.
